First Chakra
Letâs begin with the first chakra at the groin area and base of the spine. It is all about being in the physical world in a physical body. Yes, it is about being a sensual, sexual being, but at the same time it is generating, or not generating, a physical level of vitality. It is called the first chakra for a reason and that reason is the health and well-being of a functioning human body. Scanning the energy field of the first chakra will give you mountains of information about the general level of vigor, stamina, and liveliness of the individual before you. That liveliness will glow in clear, bright reds.
A healthy first chakra will feel and look vibrant, generally with an outward flowing force. Males and females alike will find this center has a more masculine energy due to the action of vitality and cellular health emanating outward. The first chakra is said to have a positive electrical charge. This has nothing to do with being a positive person. This positive charge denotes the electromagnetic aspect of the living body.
As one might suspect, many people suffer in the groin area and base of the spine due to sexual abuse and the human tendency to hold onto heavy emotions. I find that this chakra is almost always affected; rarely do I find it surging with energy. It symbolizes literally the base of all things material, all things of the earth, and the struggles we humans have with these issues. Like the roots of a tree, this center pours outward and down into the earth, connecting us to the physical, linking the physical body to the earth body. We are indeed one with the giant ball that we call our planet, and the first chakra reaches out to create that dynamic link.
Second Chakra
The second energy center is below the belly button. In its healthy state it will frequently show itself in various shades of orange sometimes mingled with red. It basically represents creation. The male and female reproductive organs are in this area, but one must also consider the broader scope of creation. This area symbolizes the ability of creating in oneâs own life. For example, one client recently yearned to be an artist but instead spent all of her time as an accountant because her parents valued that profession. Even though she always felt that the accounting profession was stifling, she did not follow her own guidance that told her she was an artist. Her second chakra reflected that repressed energy. In general, this area is about procreation and at the same time creating the individual we are meant to be. We are here to live our dreams and those dreams are coming from the voice of our soul. The second chakra is literally about being true to oneself.
This center is said to generate a negatively charged electromagnetic field. (This is not the same as negative emotions.) In both males and females, this chakra produces a more feminine energy, which would also denote a receptive feel.
